FAQ

Creating an alert on Aloofdoof.com is easy! However, we all can use some help. Here are some common questions:

1. I have posted an alert but I have not gotten any alerts on my email or my phone. Why?
There are several reasons why this may happen. Let's go over one by one.
a) Have you confirmed your email in your email box yet? You must click on the (activation) link that we sent you in your email box so that we know that you own the email you registered on Aloofdoof.
b) If you are looking for something that is rare, there might not have been any new posts that contains the keyword since you created the post. Also, you should check the spelling of the keyword to make sure that it is not misspelled. You can also "loosen" the specifics that you are looking for. i.e. Try "Laptop under $400" instead of "HP Black Laptop, CD drive, under $400". Less keyword will result more posts as long as you can live with product that's not your ideal. Same can be said for anything including jobs, rents, etc.
c) Only new posts on Craigslist are sent to your email. We do not send all posts that are currently on the Craigslist. Only the new ones. We do this because we do not want to flood your email box with same posts.

2. How come you do not have all the categories and the locations from Craigslist?
We do! Click on the advance search for any specific categories. We have placed lesser popular categories in the advance search.

3. I found what I wanted! How do I stop the alert?
a) If you are a registered user, you can log in and delete alerts under "My Alerts".
b) If you are not registered, you must find the confirmation email we sent. You can click on the link and remove the alert at that point.
c) If you do not have the confirmation email anymore, don't worry. The alert will cease to exist after 3 weeks.

4. I want to create an alert that I can have infinite amount of time. How do I do that?
a) You can have permanent alert only if you are a registered user.
